Eclipsing Binaries Program

Ed Wiley is looking for observers who might wish to do some research imaging and measuring eclipsing binaries. This is a great program where you can learn a bit of photometry and contribute very useful data for science.

Data are reported to AAVSO. You do not have to join AAVSO to contribute data.
Your data will be included in a yearly report and you will be given credit for the observations.
If interested, download the PDF. Temporary notice: DO NOT use scripts that include an autofocus command on the Australian scopes until further notice. (1June08)

Photometrica Users: You CANNOT access Photometrica in express mode at this time. Use advanced mode. An eralier version of the PDF suggested express mode. Don't believe it if you wish to use Photometrica. (Ed 11June08)

Experienced observers: Please alert me to any mistakes in the PDF and I will make immediate changes and report (Ed).
Thanks to Bill for the editing! (ed)

Photometrica Tutorial

Geir has modified Photometrica to permit time series analysis. This is a powerful program for analyzing eclipsing binaries. The tutorial explains the use of Photometrica for such analyses. Remember: You CANNOT access Photometrica in express mode at this time, so use Advanced Mode when taking your images.
